Obituary for Myrtle Lucille Pries

She was born in Burliegh County, ND to Lawrence and Iva Ousley where she lived as a young child until the age of 16. In 1943 she moved from Wilton, ND to Puyallup, WA with her family. She began working at the ship yard. In 1944 she moved to Carbonado. Grandpa Ousley and Myrtle rode the bus every day to the ship yards to work. August 19, 1945 Myrtle married William O. Morgan. They made their home in Carbonado. They had 4 children, Douglas May 1946, Sandra Jean, Jan. 1949, William Steve, Feb. 1950 and Dan, March 1951. She worked at Farman's Pickle Factory 1959-1961. In 1962, she began working at Rainier School where she retired after 26 ½ years. In September 1968 she married John R. Pries and made their home in Enumclaw, first living at Circle H Trailer Ct, then moving off Mccough living several years before moving to Cumberland where her and Grandpa spent many hours remodeling the home and landscaping the yard. They lived there until she retired from Rainier School. They sold the home in Cumberland and moved to Bonners Ferry, ID. In January, snow, Ice and all, all the boys helped caravan them and their belongings to their new home. While married to Bill, as a family, they enjoyed camping and fishing at Silver Lake and family gatherings. During the time she was married to Grandpa Jack, they enjoyed camping on Bumping Resort, deer and elk hunting. After moving to Idaho, she loved long evenings driving around looking at the deer, elk, wild turkeys, pheasants and grouse. She loved dancing, going around with grandpa Jack pasture picking, having musicians come to their home and playing music. She spent many hours cataloging all the music for Grandpa, She loved cooking meals, baking homemade bread, Pies and pizza. She loved and had a great talent for crafting projects, Crocheting, quilting, making baby dolls in blanket afghans, making dream catchers, sewing quilts, entering several things in the fairs and receiving many ribbons for her crafts. Myrtle and Grandpa Jack came back to Carbonado in 2002 as Grandpa became ill and they needed the support of their family. After Grandpa's passing on Jan. 11th 2003 mom lived with Dan for a while, then stayed with Steve until she became ill and required specialized care. Living then at Fountain Court in Maple Valley for 7 years then moving to Cedar Ridge in Bonney Lake. When she needed more care she lived at Edgewood Country retreat until her passing on July 6th. A visitation will be held, Saturday, July 15, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a funeral service on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. both at Weeks' Funeral Home, 451 Cemetery Rd., Buckley, WA 98321. Graveside service will take place on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Porthill, ID.
