Catherine Louise Johnson, 66, died November 16, 2011 in Federal Way. She was born April 4, 1945 to Kenneth and Virginia (Fleming) Figg in Seattle. Catherine graduated from Western Washington University with a BA in English and she taught in the Enumclaw Public Schools. On June 23, 1973 Catherine married Bill Johnson in Puyallup. After 25 years with the Enumclaw School District Catherine retired. Then she received her Masters in Psychology from Antioch University in Seattle. She was the Secretary for the Association for Death Education & Counseling. Catherine retired as a Grief Counselor for Weeks' Funeral Homes in June 2010. She befriended anyone who had a death in their family. Catherine was a gracious and generous friend and a mentor to many, she was a great listener and always had something kind and encouraging to say. Everyone who knew Catherine will miss her immensely. She enjoyed traveling, cooking & taking care of her plants. She was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, Order of the Eastern Star, First Presbyterian Church of Puyallup, Volunteer Member at Meeker Mansion and Superintendent of the Puyallup Fair Museum.

She is survived by her husband Bill Johnson of Puyallup; sister Sharon Rader and husband Leon of Puyallup; brother-in-law Bob Nystrom of Puyallup; stepdaughter Debbie Cope of Parkland; stepsons Lonnie Johnson and wife Judi of Puyallup and Gary Johnson and wife Judy of Galt, CA; niece Christy McElroy and husband Mel of Puyallup; nephew Craig Nystrom and wife Lori of Palmdale, CA; many step grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Her sister Carol Nystrom preceded her in death on May 27, 2011.
