Mary Elizabeth Megee, age 92 passed away on April 4, 2017 in the home of her Daughter Cathy in Tacoma, WA. After a brief, hard fight with cancer, the door opened for her and she is now with our Lord.

Mary was born August 28, 1924 in San Antonio, TX to Arthur and Ethel Boyd. She was the youngest and the apple of her Dad's eye. Her Dad worked for Humble Oil and they lived in Anahuac, Texas. To the surprise of everyone Mom was sent to live with her Aunt May in San Diego for her last year of school. Mom loved it there and had the time of her life. She has told stories of having dates for breakfast, lunch, dinner and then dancing. She met Lloyd Megee at a dance and they started dating. Dad had to ship out and Mom went back to Texas for a while but when she turned 18 she returned to San Diego and they were married on December 1, 1942 in San Francisco.

They eventually returned to Texas and settled in Houston where they lived until 1979 when they moved to Pt. Orchard, WA. They could not get away from the kids as Pat and Cathy both followed them to Pt. Orchard. Mom and Dad loved living in WA and they loved to garden and do a little traveling. Lloyd passed away in 1996 and Mary moved 1st to Ridgemont Senior Apts and then to Madrona Senior Apts. Mary had many friends as she enjoyed being the catalyst for putting together bingo games, cards and potlucks. She loved going to the casinos with her good friends Linda and Bonnie and to the Emerald Queen in Tacoma with Cathy's husband Doug. Mom lived her son Pat and his family the last year and a half of her life.

Mom enjoyed helping people. She always felt God had a purpose for her and gave a helping hand and a sweet smile to everyone that crossed her path. Mary was loved by everyone she met and loved them back in return. Always positive, always happy and always saw the best in her friends and family. Her smile, quick wit and laughter will be sorely missed. Mom had a strong faith in Jesus Christ and that faith kept her going in good times and rough times, and it saw her through her last days on this earth. We know that she is in Heaven with her Mom and Dad, her sister Barbara and her husband Lloyd. She is beautiful, happy and healthy and we rejoice that we will see her again one day.

Someone gave Mom a bookmark and it is her to a tee: Some people have a wonderful way of putting others at ease. They say and do the little things will comfort and will please. They have a special kind of warmth. They're quick to understand and whenever there is trouble. They lend a helping hand. This world of ours is a better place and happier by far… Because there are some people as wonderful as you are! This was Mary Megee.

She is survived by her sons, Mike Megee and wife Toni of Casper, WY and Pat Megee and wife Norma of Pt. Orchard, WA Daughter Cathy Swanberg and husband Doug of Tacoma, WA. Grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Mills, William Patrick Megee the II, Collin Megee, Keli Johnson, Chad Saunders, Haley Megee, Keri Megee Wagner and Dori Megee Buese and thirteen great grandchildren, and many wonderful friends.

Mary will be interred with her husband Lloyd at Tahoma National Veterans Cemetery in Kent Washington on Wednesday May 24th. at 10:45am.
