Michael Ross Shoemaker was born in 1957 in Renton, WA. He spent his childhood in Palmer, WA and his teen years in Black Diamond, WA. He graduated from Enumclaw High School in 1975. As an adult he was proud to play baseball with the Black Diamond Merchants. He was a logger for many years and eventually traded that in to run heavy machinery. The last 10 years of his life he ran the business he created Cedar Design. His business consisted of him building the most beautiful cedar benches and outdoor furniture. He took great pride in his business and accomplished so much over the past decade with his work. Mike was a devoted father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time outdoors with his family and going on fun vacations and adventures.
Michael is survived by his partner of 32 years, Monica Shoemaker of Enumclaw, WA; son Colton Shoemaker of Enumclaw, WA; daughters Ashley Shoemaker and Danielle Paterson & her partner Travis Evans of Enumclaw, WA; mother Sharrin Burnside & husband Loren Sever of Buckley, WA; father Chuck Shoemaker & wife Carole of Tonasket, WA; brother Karl Shoemaker & wife Carol of Enumclaw, WA; sister Lynne Hilliard-Stipp & husband Rich of Ephrata, WA; sister Karin Burnside of Bonney Lake, WA; stepfather Bruce Burnside of Black Diamond, WA; stepbrother Chris Hoiland of Ravensdale, WA; and grandchildren Lola Reagan, Hunter Kemp, and Mason Evans. He was preceded in death by his son Dustin Shoemaker in 2012.
