Obituary

Betty Marie Meinhart age 100, died January 21, 2017 in Enumclaw. She was born on April 27, 1916 in Watford City, ND to Hans Ole and Betty Marie (Tideman) Peterson. She worked as a cook at Evergreen Hospital in Totem Lake and Community Memorial Hospital in Enumclaw. Betty met and married Richard Meinhart and they moved to Enumclaw in 1977. She always kept busy, crocheting, sewing doll clothes, taking care of her great grandchildren, and growing the best smelling roses. Betty still loved to cook and bake at home, which benefitted everyone who visited, her specialty was Norwegian lefse. She had the most beautiful soprano voice, valued church and taking her family to church.

Betty is survived by her daughters Karolyn Durrenmatt of Auburn, WA and Janet Sigman of Mountain Home, ID; son Russell Morency of Oregon City, OR; grandchildren: Leitha, Barbara, Yolanda, Shannon, Dani, Rhonda, Rachel, Terri, Michelle, Nicole, Amber, Tiffany, Corrie, and Roger; 39 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; nieces Rita and Barbara; and nephews Buddy, Dean, and Rod. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard J. Meinhart on February 28, 2010; son Roger Morency; brothers Roy and Steve; sisters Esther, Lillian and Verna; and granddaughter Erica Rose.
