Daniel John Holdener
Daniel John Holdener was born to Benedikt Marianus Holdener and Marie Theresa Lindauer Holdener on June 6, 1961 in Renton, Washington, and passed away suddenly at home on February 5, 2017 in Auburn, Washington. He was the seventh of nine children and was preceded in death by his father.
Dan is survived by his spouse Cindy and their children Andrew and Anna. He has many brothers and sisters including Steve (Rita), Larry (Brenda), Jerry (Janis), Brian (Dena), Diana, Lisa (Rick), Eric (Shirley) and Bob (Mandy) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dan's life revolved around his family, farm, and animals. He loved his friends, the Swiss culture, Swiss Schwingen and music, sports, cars, and restoring tractors. He was a member of the Swiss Sportsmen's Club of Tacoma, a singer in the Mannerchor, and was a crown Schwinger at Schwingfests along the West Coast.
In his youth, Dan was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Buckley and attended Sumner High School. He was in the graduating Class of 1979, as well as a member of the State Champion Football team of 1977.
Dan was loved dearly by his wife and children, and was a good family man who enjoyed watching his children play sports. He was very proud to see his children grow to become loving and responsible adults.
A Celebration of Dan's life will be held on Sunday, February 19th at 3 p.m. in the main hall at the Swiss Park at 9205 198th Ave. E. Bonney Lake, Washington.
