Joyce A. Johnson, 88 of Buckley, died Feb. 25, 2017 in Puyallup. She was born Feb. 15, 1929 in Tishamingo, OK to Arta & Nola Duncan. Joyce married Howard "Jerry" M. Johnson in Seattle, WA. They moved to Renton for a couple of years before moving to George Town, then they moved to Midway/Des Moines. In 1960, they moved to Tacoma where they bought a grocery store. Eventually they settled in Kent, WA. Joyce enjoyed knitting, crocheting, fishing & camping. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Joyce was a devout Christian. She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard M. Johnson in 1996; sisters, Jean Porter & Bessie Duncan. Survivors include, sons, Michael Johnson & wife Elizabeth of Lake Tapps & Leon Johnson & wife Suzie of Enumclaw; daughter, Linda Azzola & husband Larry of Renton. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren & 8 step-great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held, Sat., March 11, 2017 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Swiss Park.
