Lifelong area resident Jennie Josephine LaBree, 96, died May 29, 2017. She was born October 6, 1920, the second youngest of seven children to Peter, a coal miner, and Mary Tost in Cumberland. Jennie grew up on the Plateau, graduating from Enumclaw High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for several local companies, closing out her career as an administrative accountant with the White River School District. Jennie was a homemaker, great cook and outstanding gardener, who enjoyed traveling the world – Africa and the Middle East. She was also a member of the Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughter Diane Green (Bob) of Enumclaw; granddaughter Jamie Osborn (Jay) of Enumclaw; and great-grandchildren Westin, Danner, Grace and Ty Osborn. She is also survived by stepchildren Gary LaBree (Patsy) of Omak, WA and Judy LaBree Oman (Ted) of Shibuya-Tokyo, Japan; and step grandchildren Marci Knies, John and Aaron LaBree and Kory and Kraig Oman.
A graveside service is scheduled for 2 p.m. June 15 at Enumclaw Evergreen Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Franciscan Hospice, P.O. Box 1502, Tacoma, WA 98401-9836.
