Patricia Anne Avey, 66, died June 3, 2017 in Puyallup, WA. She was born June 14, 1950 in Shelton, WA to Angus and Merle McNeil.

Patricia accomplished many things in her life such as, obtaining her Bachelors in English from the University of Washington in 1972, where she was a proud member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. After graduating, Patricia started teaching in the Highline School District in Seattle, then moved to the Enumclaw School District where she taught English for 42 years. Patricia's adventurous side came out when she decided to move to Nuiqsut, Alaska, a very remote small village, to teach for 5 years.

She was incredibly passionate about reading and gave children that same passion through her relentless encouragement and teaching. In the last 6 years of her life Patricia had the opportunity to travel to many places of her dreams including Scotland, Paris, Peru, Japan, London and Malta. Most of all she loved to visit her children at their homes in Los Angeles, CA.

Patricia is survived by her son, Mark Avey of West Hollywood, CA; daughter Anne Marie Avey of Venice, CA; brother Mike McNeil and wife Janet of Seattle; sister Marilyn McNeil and husband Tom of Olympia; Nieces, Tori McNeil and Betsy Bullman of Olympia, Taylor McNeil of Seattle and Hali McNeil of Anchorage, Alaska.

Patricia died from Brain cancer and in light of this please make memorial donations to The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, PO Box 19023, Seattle, WA, 98109.
