Anne Ellen Butz

Anne E. Butz, 90, died on Jan. 18, 2019.  She was born Jan. 8, 1929, in Akron, OH, to Charles and Gertrude Butz.  She graduated from St. Vincent H.S.  With great pride, in 1964 she was one of the first women to graduate cum laude from John Carroll University, an all-male Jesuit university at the time.  She was recruited by Weyerhaeuser and moved to Seattle, WA, where she traveled extensively for their HR dept.  She owned Marvanell Farm with Susan Halsan, her partner of 30 years where they bred and owned race horses for 29 years.

Anne will be missed by those who knew her wit, humor and compassion, especially her best friend of 59 years, Maggie Marshall, and her niece, Anne Palmieri.
