Denny "Coach" Johnson provided needed leadership qualities in me such that I did not need to worry about other issues that were prevalent at the time at Kent Meridian. All of the coaches, including John Hill, Tom Tommervik, Dick Pruett and Marv Earl give me reasons to excel, but especially Coach Johnson whose only concern was that you give 110% on the field, then everything else would take care of itself...(he didn't say that, but that is the way it worked out)...Lord, go to his family and soothe their hearts; bless as only you can, In Jesus Name...AMEN

Denny was one of My Favorite Teachers. I took his Student Leadership Class, which really helped Me. Love & Prayers 💔🙏🏼

I will not be able to attend today but wanted to send my thought about coach. He was a great inspiration in my life as I became a football coach (Head Coach for 14 years) and a history teacher. Thanks Coach for all you did to make so many of us better. SB
