Gerald Smith Obituary

Gerald W. Smith died August 23, 2019. He was born April 25, 1926 in Enumclaw and lived in Enumclaw his entire life. During WW II Gerald served in the US Army in the Philippines from 1944-1946. Gerald was a kind and humble man with a quiet sense of humor. He owned Appliance Servicenter in Enumclaw from 1962 until his retirement in 1989. He spent his retirement years devoted to his granddaughters, taking them to and from countless ballet/dance classes and performances. He most enjoyed performing throughout the years with each of his granddaughters as Herr Drosselmeier in the 9th Ave School of Dance production of The Nutcracker. He will be remembered as a kind and devoted father, grandfather, bonus grandfather and friend by all who knew him. He was our rock and we will miss him.

Gerald is survived by his daughters Marianne Spence, Susan Barnett (Brian), Geri Wiltfong (Virgil) and Amy Hernandez (Marvin); former wife Marlene Smith; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Donald Smith and grandson Vince Barnett.
