Jackie Ann (Baumgardner) Chang passed away after a short illness on June 18, 2019. She was born on January 8, 1947 to parents Sam and Beth Baumgardner. She was raised in the Enumclaw and Buckley area along with her older sister Marilyn surrounded by a multitude of aunts, uncles and cousins. In 1965, she set out to Seattle to attend college with her lifelong best friend Wanda. There she met and married Jefferson Chang in 1967. Children shortly followed, Jayson in 1971, Michael in 1975 and Katherine in 1989.
After retiring from Mutual of Enumclaw, she pursued her art with a passion. A skilled gardener, Jackie continued to refine and create beautiful spaces. One of her biggest gripes was running out of room to plant more. An accomplished quilter, she spent many hours stockpiling her fabric stash and creating pieces that were gifted with love to family and friends.
Jackie was known for her enormous heart, her quick sense of humor and her quiet, unconditional love. She had many friends who enjoyed her skills in the kitchen and at the card table. The loves of her life were her grandchildren, with whom she spent many hours cooking, crafting and most importantly being present.
Jackie is survived by ex-husband Jefferson Chang; children Jayson (Langley) Chang, Michael (Molly) Chang and Katherine Chang. Carrying on her memory are her grandchildren Mia, Lucas, Ruby, Lucinda and Violet. She is also survived by her sister Marilyn McCart.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for June 29th from 11am-2pm at the Danish Hall in Enumclaw.
