Buckley resident James Bevaart, age 66, died February 21, 2018 in Tacoma. He was born August 28, 1951 to William and Dorothy (Welch) Bevaart in Renton. A lifetime resident of the plateau, Jim graduated Enumclaw High School in 1970 and was #1 in cross-country that year. He was affectionately known as “Beep” by the track team. He loved hydroplanes, whether he was racing, crewing on an Unlimited team or helping restore the old boats. Fishing was also a source of enjoyment throughout his life.
Jim is survived by his wife of 37 years Judy; daughters Kayla Bevaart of Kodiak, Alaska and Kimberly McCool of East Wenatchee; grandson Carson McCool of East Wenatchee; and sister Susan Gavlas (Joe) of Hillsboro, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers William Bevaart and Thomas Bevaart; and sister Leona Legler.
