Janette Lee (Peterson) Hawley

Janette Lee Peterson Hawley was born to Doris and Milton Peterson on May 10, 1953 in Renton. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at the age of 66. Thankfully, she was surrounded by loving family members in her home of 21 years in Ravensdale. She was raised most of her life in Seattle and graduated from Enumclaw High School. She was a giving and loving sister to 14 brothers and sisters. Janette was woman of God who used her Christian calling to teach children’s fellowship. She blessed everyone with her unbreakable faith that will stay with them always. The lyrics to “Love Child”, one of her favorite songs by Stevie Kay, will live on in her family forever. Janette was a loving mother to four children Rene, Annie, Joshua, and Matthew as well as a devoted wife to her husband of 25 years Sean. She would tell you her proudest accomplishment was being a grandma to Jacob Houston age14 and Madison Adaline Morrow age 10.

Janette is survived by her husband Sean Hawley; children: Rene Seling, Annie Seling, Joshua Seling and Matthew Hawley; siblings: Patricia Lafferty, Darrell Peterson (Judy), Dennis Peterson (Connie), Allen Peterson, fraternal twins Marlin Peterson and Marlene Knoppe, John Peterson (Joyce), her identical twin sister Janet VanWieringen (Steve), Cheryl Anderson, Julie Scott (Robert), Joanne Gott and Jamie Cardoza (Rick); grandchildren Jacob Houston and Madison Morrow. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Kenneth Peterson; and sister Norma Frost.

A funeral service was held Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Weeks’ Enumclaw Funeral Home. Burial was at Greenwood Memorial Park in Renton. Memorial donations can be made at the Columbia Bank in Enumclaw in care of Janet VanWieringen under account number 000-1756002.
