Joan Marie (Nachtsheim) Malgarini

Joan Marie (Nachtsheim) Malgarini  was born on August 14, 1938 in Selz, North Dakota and passed away on July 13, 2018 in Enumclaw, Washington. Joan was the last living and youngest of eight children born to John and Mary Nachtsheim.

Joan moved with her family to Enumclaw in 1943 and has been a proud resident since. She graduated from Enumclaw High School in 1956. In 1961 Joan married Donald Larry Malgarini of Black Diamond. Don and Joan built a loving home on the plateau where they lived until Don’s death in 2017.

Joan lived a life of service. She volunteered for PTA, Camp Fire, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Enumclaw Foundation and Enumclaw Swim Team. She was a reading instructor for adults through a community program. If anyone ever needed a helping hand, Joan was the first one to step up.

Once her children were older Joan worked for Dependable Truck Lines, Greenbaum Furniture and retired from Boeing in 2005.

Joan will be missed by her children, Dahni (Pete Logar), Mary (Scott Peterson), Mike (Bonnie) and most of all her grandchildren whom she was so proud of: Peter (Jen), Jake, Sam, Don, Marissa, Mia, Gunar, Joey and Abbey and great grandson Declan.

A celebration of life for Joan will be on August 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a Rosery prior to the celebration of life at 10:30 a.m.
