Karmen Nordhougen Obituary

Karmen Kay Nordhougen, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and dear friend to many passed away quietly in her sleep on December 17, 2018.

Karmen was born August 21, 1975, in Skagway, Alaska to Robert and Myrna Nordhougen. She joined sisters, Kristi and Kari and twin brothers, Kyle and Kirk.

The family moved to Washington State in 1978. In 1980 Karmen entered kindergarten and graduated from the WRSD in 1993. Karmen was involved in many activities: student council, honor society, volleyball, softball and her favorite "cheerleader".  In 1994 Karmen went on to obtain her teaching degree, receiving a bachelor’s degree from the University of WA.  She taught a number of years in the Seattle School District, going on to earn her master’s degree and Principalship...........

Karmen enjoyed life in every aspect. She adored her "school kids" and her love of dogs was phenomenal. She adopted a number of dogs during her short life and was also involved in finding homes for the homeless. Her infectious laugh, wit, and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Karmen will remain in our hearts forever and will NEVER be forgotten. We LOVE YOU KARMEN, more than you will ever know. Until we meet again, my beloved daughter, RIP.......

Besides Karmen's immediate family, many aunts and uncles, and friends, Karmen leaves behind her significant other, Matthew Brown, two best friends, Hannah Harris and Pete Morris and her two service dogs, Papone and Kiomi. Survivors include her mother, Myrna Nordhougen, Kristi (Mike) Dawson and family, Kyle Nordhougen and family, all of Buckley; Kari (Jody) Ballmer of Newcastle, WA and Kirk (Maia) Nordhougen of Issequah, WA. She was preceded in death by her father, Bob Nordhougen, her grandparents, 1 aunt and uncle and 2 cousins.....
