Kenneth Anders Scott was born September 15, 1933 on his family's dairy farm in Enumclaw, WA to Nick and Mildred Scott. He passed away on September 18, 2017, 3 days after his 84th birthday.
Ken graduated from Enumclaw High School in 1953, shortly after he was drafted by the US Army and spent 18 months in Germany. After his discharge in 1958 he worked for Boeing in Renton, WA. He married the love of his life JoAnn (Jody) Ainsworth on November 22, 1958 and they started their own dairy farm in Enumclaw. Ken and Jody had 3 children, Kenny Alan, Mike (Pam) Scott, and Kristin (Louie) Gibson. In 1971 they moved their family to a farm they bought in Ellensburg, WA where they would raise their children.
In his early years, Ken enjoyed playing softball, basketball, bowling, playing dominoes and cards with family. Farming was Ken's life and he truly was a hard working family man. His sons Kenny and Mike took over the dairy in 1999 but Ken continued to help on the farm every day. He enjoyed watching his granddaughter, Kayla Gibson, barrel race and would attend every event he could. He also enjoyed watching the Seahawks, and taking yearly trips to Curlew to fish and relax with family. He so loved his children, grandkids and great grandkids and enjoyed when they were around.
Ken had five grandchildren, Nicholas Gibson, Jeff (Carrie) Scott, Justin Scott, Kory Gibson and Kayla Gibson, five great grandchildren, and a brother Ronald (Hazel) Scott. He is preceded in death by both parents, his brothers Melvin and Elmer Scott, son-in-law, Louie Gibson, and grandson Nicholas Gibson. Celebration of life will be held at the Ellensburg Fairgrounds, Manashtash Room on Saturday, September 23rd at 11:00 AM. Memorials are suggested to Kittitas County Fire and Rescue District 2, and Thorp Fire District 1.
