Larry Ogle Obituary

Larry Edward Ogle passed away on July 24, 2019 following a two year battle with esophageal cancer, with family by his side.  He was born to Wilson H. & Mildred Ogle on October 24, 1942 in Puyallup and except for moving to Whidbey Island from 2007 - 2015, lived his entire life in the Enumclaw area. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Cheryl (Bitney) Ogle; daughter, Jennifer Strapac (Scott) grandsons, Nicholas and Griffin; and daughter, Courtney Whitish (Jason) and grandson, Austin. The bulk of his working life had to do with log hauling and timber harvest. That was his favorite place to be.  He always said he loved the smell of the landing early in the mornings. He also loved running his tractor and his excavator and building roads.  His last working years were spent working on the Beacon Hill Light Rail project and after retiring from that, he built a beautiful house overlooking the straits of Juan de Fuca near Coupeville on Whidbey Island, doing much of the work himself. He loved to fish in Alaska. He loved travel in general, whether it was just a road trip around the US, or trips to more far away destinations. They made for wonderful memories. He had a great sense of humor which, sadly, faded  during his treatment.

At his request there will be a wake in his honor  at "The Claw" in Enumclaw on Saturday, September 7th from 4 to 8 pm. All who would like to honor his life and share stories are cordially invited.
