Lloyd R. Bickler passed away peacefully on November 4, 2018, in Enumclaw, at the age of 91.
He was born in Rugby, North Dakota, on August 28, 1927. Lloyd joined the Navy and proudly served his country from 1945-1948. On July 1, 1950, he married the love of his life, Ramona Melrose, in Miles City, Montana.
Lloyd started his career as a lineman for Otter Tail Power Company in North Dakota. In 1967, the family moved to Washington where he began working for Puget Power and was employed there until his retirement in 1989. He was also a member in good standing with IBEW for 65 years. One of Lloyd’s greatest joys in life was attending his kids and grandkids sporting events. He was always their biggest fan! A more recent highlight was as an Honor Flight participant where he joined other veterans to visit the war memorials in Washington, D.C.
He is survived by his loving wife Ramona of 68 years; his children JoLee (Mike) Majack, Buzz Bickler, Angela Schneider, Lon (Alison) Bickler, Monte (Leeann) Bickler and Shawna Doehrer; brother Scotty (Amy) Bickler; sister Argyle Baukol; 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 17, at 1 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park, 23717 SE 416th St., Enumclaw, followed by a reception at Living Court Activity Center, 2229 Jensen St., Enumclaw.
