A memorial service for Mary Jane Sharples is planned for July 29, 2018, on what would have been her 93rd birthday.
She was born on July 29, 1925, in Gary, IN. She died July 10, 2018, in Morton, WA.
Mary loved dancing, music, gardening, raising chickens, playing cards, painting with water colors and oils; and going on adventures, particularly her trip to Hawaii. She enjoyed the beach, puzzles and crocheting. Mary was very charitable in her giving.
When she lived in Buckley, Mary formed a close relationship with the librarians, was involved with the Buckley Eagles REAC.
She is survived by a son James (Susan) Sharples of Randle, WA; daughters Pax (Tom Fite) Gallagher of Auburn, Wash., and Phyllis (Mark) Egner of Buckley, WA; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Sharples on Sept. 8, 2001, son, Loran Gallagher; and eight brothers and sisters.
Mary’s memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, at Weeks’ Funeral Home in Buckley. She will be buried in the Buckley City Cemetery.
