On March 20th, 2019 we said farewell to our sister, aunt and friend, Patti Leonard. Patti was born on December 20th, 1960 to Alice and John Leonard in Minneapolis, MN.
It is serendipitous that she left us on the first day of spring, when we emerge from the darkness of winter and welcome brighter days that feed the flowers and bring the songs of birds. Like spring, Patti brought beauty, joy, and light into those she touched. Each new spring will honor her passing with the emerging blooms of flowers and the return of the songbirds.
Those who knew her are left with her love of family, her laughter, her acceptance of others, and her free spirit. Her appreciation of art was a reflection of what she wanted, to make the world a more beautiful place. Like the paintings she admired, she was beautiful, creative, full of color, and brought joy to all of us. Her humor and wit brought light to any situation, and her smile brightened any room.
Patti achieved what many of us long for; to make the world a better place merely by her existence. While we have lost a dear sister and friend, we are left with the gift of how she touched each of us.
Patti is survived by her sisters Maggie, Terry, and Katie, her brother Robbie, her loyal companion Jake, her brother in law Ray, her sister in law Christine, her nieces, Sarah, Alyse, and Julia, and her nephews Tristan and Tommy.
She will be memorialized as she wished, with the planting of a tree in her honor. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 7th, 2019 at the Embassy Suites (Tukwila), 15920 West Valley Highway, Seattle, WA 98188.
