Raymond Revell

Raymond Richard Revell, 91, of Auburn passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 9, 2019. Ray was born on November 15, 1927 in Riceville, Iowa, the third of four children born to Homer William Revell, Sr. and Beulah (Fry) Revell. He was raised and attended school in Grinnell, Iowa. Ray proudly served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. After being honorably discharged from the service he settled in Seattle near his sister Colleen Duyff and her husband Pete. Ray went to work for Boeing where he operated an overhead crane for 38 years until his retirement. While working at Boeing, Ray met Florence McFarlane and they were married June 23, 1956. In 1958, they purchased a home in Auburn where they raised their two boys, Larry and Gary. Ray had varied interests including boating, fishing, hunting, camping, woodworking and going to garage sales. He and Florence were charter members of the Green River Ramblers trailer club and made lifelong-long friends as they travelled throughout the Northwest. They also made many trips back to Minnesota to attend family reunions. Ray loved his family and adored his grandchildren. He will be lovingly missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 62 years, two sisters, and a brother. He is survived by sons Larry (Judy) of Auburn and Gary Revell of Auburn and grandchildren Travis, Rachel, Jacob and Kyle.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Wabash Church, 18325 SE 384th Street, Auburn, WA 98092. Military honors and inurnment are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th Street, Kent, WA 98042.
