Richard “Dick” Yackey, 76, went to Heaven on November 8, 2019. Having asked Jesus into his life in 1973, he was assured of spending eternity in Heaven with Him. In 1966 he graduated from San Diego State College, married the love of his life Ruthie Pollock, and join the Air Force. During his time in the Air Force he and Ruthie welcomed two daughters, Jannie and Christy. After being discharged from the Air Force as a captain Dick and his family lived in California, Washington, Montana and returned to Washington in 1977. The family then settled in Enumclaw when Dick went to work for Mutual of Enumclaw Insurance as an underwriter, where he was employed for 28 years before retiring. Given a guitar for his 14th birthday by his brother George, Dick greatly enjoyed singing and playing that guitar. His love of music and playing the guitar continued throughout his life.
He is survived by his wife, Ruthie; daughters, Jannie McGibbon (John) of Black Diamond and Christy Edgell (Jim) of Cascade, Iowa; sister, Jane Stetzler of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania; and many extended relatives. He was blessed to be grandfather to five grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother George.
