Sondra K. Peckham, 76, of Buckley, died Oct. 22, 2017 in Bonney Lake, WA. She was born Feb. 11, 1941 to Chester & Florence Thompson in Aberdeen, SD. She married Rex Peckham June 26, 1957 in Groton, SD. Sondra graduated from Grossmont Community College with a degree in respiratory therapy in 1968. She worked for Kiser & Grossmont Hospitals until 1975 when she moved to Buckley, WA. Then she went to work for Community Memorial Hospital as a respiratory therapist. During her tenure she became the manager of her department and ultimately managed the Emergency Department, Nursing and Laundry Department. She also became the Infection Control Officer. Sondra was a member of APIC – Association for Professionals in Infection Control & Epidemiology. She retired from the hospital and went to work for the Enumclaw Medical Center. She retired again to their tree farm in Buckley & Rochester. Sondra enjoyed crafts, knitting, crocheting, cooking and baking. Everyone loved her. Sondra is survived by her husband, Rex Peckham of Buckley; sons, Bradley Peckham of Tacoma, Lane Peckham and wife, Nanette of Federal Way, and Bret Peckham and wife, Michelle of Desert Aire, WA; daughters, Lisa Gallagher and husband Chris of Boise, ID and Wendy Mahaney and husband Charles of Graham. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Sondra is preceded in death by her daughter, Leigh Anna Grover March 29, 2015; brothers, Ivan and Darwin; sisters, Audrey and Shirley.
