Clayton Steven Bloomer
Steve Bloomer died on March 12, 2019 in Tacoma surrounded by family. He was 66 and lived a rewarding life full of hard work, family and adventure.
Steve was born on May 8, 1952 in Olympia to Clayton and Velda Bloomer. He and his sisters, Debbie and Betty were raised in the Kent Valley until 1966 when Clayton and Velda purchased a dairy farm in Enumclaw. Steve attended Enumclaw Junior High and High School where he was active in FFA, ran cross country and met his high school sweetheart, Susan Baker. They were married in the fall of 1970 following their graduation. Steve worked on a local dairy farm until 1976 when he went into partnership with his dad on the family farm, Sea-Bee Dairy. Steve and Sue raised their two children, Jennifer and John and built a home on the farm property. Steve retired from farming in 2001 but remained busy working at various jobs with people he knew.
Steve was a longtime hunter and fisherman, and also enjoyed camping with his family and friends. He could regularly be found playing cards at the Sale Barn during lunch or riding his mule with friends. Thursday nights were reserved for playing guitars in his shop with a handful of other recreational musicians. While Steve’s hobbies and past-times were diverse and many, his priority has always been his family. He never hesitated to lend a hand when a friend or family member needed help. He was humble and generous with time, wisdom, resources and jokes.
Steve is survived by his wife Susan, daughter Jennifer (Zac) Anderson, son John Bloomer, grandchildren Joël and Faith Anderson, and Clayton Bloomer and a number of close friends and family.
A memorial service is planned for 1 pm on Saturday, April 13 at The Summit Church in Enumclaw. Memorials can be made to The Summit Church or Enumclaw Fire Department.
