Ann & Charles "Chuck" Hodder Obituary

**In Loving Memory of Chuck and Ann Hodder**

Ann Marie (Dahlquist) Hodder and Charles “Chuck” Sidney Hodder were married for 73 years before passing away within a couple months of each other; Ann on September 5, 2023, and Chuck on November 10, 2023.  They were laid to rest in the Buckley Cemetary in Section E, Block 7, Lots 1 & 2.

Ann was born December 9, 1931, in Ballard, Washington and was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Ann attended Enumclaw High School until the merger with Buckley High School in 1949.  She had a green thumb for gardening, and an eye for needlepoint and painting.  She hand painted many things over the years including old saws, milk cans, wall hangings and landscapes.  She was a great cook and host for many, many annual family gatherings.  Having her family together meant the world to her.  Ann was preceded in death by her father Windsor Dahlquist and her mother Edna (Walton) Dahlquist, and three brothers, Winsor, Rich and Duke Dahlquist.

Chuck was born February 2, 1932, in Enumclaw, Washington.  He was a devoted husband and father, working for Fiberboard Corporation for 22 years in Washington state (Sumner and Wenatchee) and in 1974, moved to Columbia Corrugated in Portland, Oregon for another 22 years, until his retirement in 1997. Chuck attended Buckley High School until the merger with Enumclaw High School in 1949.  Chuck enjoyed family camping trips and he was an avid fisherman, hunter, and really enjoyed playing golf until he was about 88 years old!  Chuck was preceded in death by his father Donald Hodder and mother Sylvia (Piltii) Hodder, a sister, Ruth, and survived by his sister Judy.

Ann and Chuck met when Enumclaw and Buckley High Schools were merged in 1949.  They both graduated from White River High School in 1950.  Chuck was a standout in sports, lettering 12 times (all 4 years in football, baseball and basketball).  Ann was a cheerleader at both Enumclaw and White River High Schools.  These High School sweethearts were married in 1950 and went on to celebrate an incredible, fulfilling 73 years of life together.

Chuck and
Ann leave behind their five children; Suzie, Jeff, Dave, Charlie (Ginni) and Mike (Stefanie), nine grandchildren including Sara (Van), Jenny, Molly, Jess, Charlie (Katie), Ben (Victoria), Sam, Luke, Vivian and two great-grandchildren (Christian and Remy).
