Barbara Holbrook Obituary

Barbara Jean Holbrook was born on May 25, 1947, in Seattle, Washington. She was surrounded by love on October 5, 2021, at the age of 74 when she left this world. She left on her terms, in her way, which is the exact way she lived her life.  Barbara graduated from Cleveland High School in 1965 in Seattle, Washington. She met the love of her life Larry Holbrook, May 25, 1985.  They were married May 25, 1999. Barbara was the heartbeat of her family, if she knew you, she loved you as her own. She loved unconditionally and was always ready with an open heart and a listening ear no matter how badly she may have been feeling.  However, you better not do something stupid, or you would earn a well-deserved whack AKA “DiNozzo” on the back of your head. Of course, she always followed that with one of her characteristic warm hugs and “I love you’ s”. She was active in her church, loved God, and was a diehard Seahawks and NASCAR fan.  She was more at home outdoors than inside and spent all the time she could camping, gardening, or just lounging in her own back yard with her feet in the dirt. She would tell you she was “just a simple country girl”, she was proud of it and made sure you knew it.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Larry Holbrook, her cat Baby Bingle, her children Christina Van De Grift (Scott), James Jurey, Robert Jurey (Janell), Joseph Jurey, Jenny Proctor (Michael) and Angie Fox (Will).  Her grandchildren, Kimberly Ifcic (Scott), Kirstin Epperson (Scott), Kaitlin Knueven, Kristopher Knueven, Ashley Jurey, Anson Proctor, Victoria Proctor, Addison Proctor, Coleton Davis, Mia Davis, Kayla Fox, Logan Fox, Brianna Holbrook, Caitlyn Holbrook, Alyssa Holbrook, Emma Holbrook, Grace Holbrook, Wes Holbrook and her six great-grandchildren, her siblings, Pat, Ruby, Pete (Susan), Peggy, and Judy (Jim) as well as countless nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many others whom she considered family.  She was preceded to heaven by her beloved cat Baby Jinx, her parents, her son Wade Holbrook, her sister Roberta, and her brother-in-law Jerry.  She suffered silently for years of rheumatoid arthritis which eventually caused the pulmonary fibrosis that took her from us too soon.

The family appreciates your condolences.
