Obituary

Barbara Margaret Kranz was born on January 24, 1931, in Enumclaw, and it was a significant event for the community as she was one of three babies born that day along with her brothers Andy and Carl.  Barbara grew up in Enumclaw and attended high school, graduating in 1949.  She was a lifelong resident of Enumclaw and remained connected to her community throughout her life.  She passed away on March 6, 2023, at the age of 92, due to complications from pneumonia.

After completing her high school studies, Barbara pursued Dental Hygiene studies in San Francisco.  She returned to Enumclaw and started a successful career in banking.  Barbara worked for several banks in the local area, starting with First National Bank of Enumclaw.  Later in her career, she worked for Puget Sound Bank and Mount Rainier National Bank.  Throughout her banking career, Barbara was known for her exceptional customer service skills, and she took pride in knowing her customers by name.  Her customer-oriented approach earned her a well-deserved reputation with the community.

Barbara had a passion for entertaining and loved to host dinner parties for her family and many friends.  She was particularly fond of holidays and enjoyed collecting home decorations for every occasion.  Barbara was especially proud of her Swedish heritage and was known for preparing delicious Swedish treats, including Tunnbröd, Spritz, Krumkake, and Pickled Herring.  She loved to prepare holiday packages for gifting to the special people in her life.  Barbara’s generosity, thoughtfulness, and fun-loving personality were cherished by all who knew her.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Kranz; her father Jon Albert Anderson; her mother Kerstin Anderson; her sister Brita Anderson; and her triplet brothers Andy Anderson and Carl Anderson. She is survived by her son Daniel Kranz (Jennifer); her daughter Jill Morris (Bob); her granddaughter Kayla Peterson (Ron); and her grandson Jeffrey Kranz.

Barbara's family would like to extend their gratitude to her caregivers at Saint Elizabeth Hospital and the staff at both Living Court and High Point Village.
