Benjamin Puterbaugh Obituary

Benjamin Leo Puterbaugh, a long-time gospel preacher and faithful Christian, passed from this life and gained his heavenly reward on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, in Puyallup, WA. He was 86 years old.

Ben was born at home in Darke County, Ohio on January 24th, 1935, and married the love of his life, Martha Jean Burdette, on March 4th, 1954

He worked full-time as an experienced electrician while also raising a large family; son - Mike Puterbaugh (Tacoma, WA), daughter - Vickie Daniels (Salem, OR), son-Jeff Puterbaugh (Salem, OR), son - Ric Puterbaugh (Rathdrum, ID), daughter - Carrie Zorn (Roseville, CA), daughter - Sue Ellen Trigg (San Antonio, TX). During his time here on earth, he also labored in the Kingdom by preaching the good news of the gospel all the way from North Pole, AK down to St. Petersburg, FL. In fact, Ben served as a full-time evangelist for many diverse congregations, including St. Petersburg, FL; North Pole, AK; Portage, IN; Cottage Grove, OR; Coeur d’Alene, ID; Albany, OR; Casey, IL; Longview, WA; and most recently, Enumclaw, WA.

Ben loved to play cards, travel, garden, and talk about spiritual matters. He enjoyed being active and spent time hunting, fishing, and playing racquetball. He also enjoyed watching sports on the television (on mute) and was hardly ever seen without his trademark accessory, a hat of some kind.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin & Hildreth Puterbaugh of Klamath Falls, OR; his son-in-law Mike Kramar; his great grandson, Blake Dickey;  his daughter-in-law  Sherry Puterbaugh.

Besides his wife and children, Ben is survived by two brothers, Jim Puterbaugh (Manila, Philippines), and Fred Puterbaugh (Dade City, FL) and two sisters, Charlotte Miller (Frostproof, FL) and Susan Roe (Junction City, OR). He is also survived by his 24 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

“7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”

-2 Timothy 4:7-8
