Betty Catherine Heady Carawan went to be with the Lord on November 21, 2020. She was ready to see her husband, James, her parents, Josephine (Jessi) and Joseph Heady, as well as her 12 siblings that preceded her in death. Betty was born in Parma, Missouri on November 17, 1929. She attended Parma High School and graduated with honors in 1947. Betty then moved to Baltimore, Maryland for work where she met and married James Carawan. They had two daughters, Linda (Reimer) and Jacqueline (Flores) and a son, Eric. Betty had 12 grandchildren, 13 great- grandchildren and 1 great-great- grandchild. Betty had an adventurous life with a move to Chugiak, Alaska in 1958 while Alaska was still a US territory. She, James, and Eric later moved to New Bern, North Carolina in 1975 and finally to Enumclaw, Washington in 1996. Betty was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother as well as a faithful friend. Betty loved the Lord and served in churches wherever she lived. She had a love for Women’s Ministry and taught Sunday School for many years.
A memorial service will be planned in the future.
