Betty Lou van der Waal, a homemaker, seamstress, craft person, loving mother and wife, died March 21, 2022 in Port Angeles, Washington. Betty was born August 20, 1931 in Kent. She graduated from Enumclaw schools. On September 24, 1949 Betty married Albert van der Waal, her husband of 47 years. Together they had two children, Allan and Nancy. She enjoyed travelling, going to the beach, camping, Danish Lodge, her Sunshine Circle, her girlfriends from school, bowling, and country living. Betty was an excellent cook and welcomed all to her table.
Betty is survived by her son Allan van der Waal and his wife Joanne of Port Angeles; her brother Stan Skagen and his wife Shirley of Enumclaw; her sister-in-law Helen Skagen; 5 grandchildren; great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert; her daughter Nancy; and her brother Richard Skagen.
A visitation and reception will be held from 11am – 3pm on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Weeks’ Funeral Home in Buckley.
