Christopher J. Thrasher, 59, of Buckley, Washington passed on May 17, 2021 in an accident while working on his family home.
Chris was a 1980 graduate of Hazen Highschool in Renton and attended Renton Vocational College where he earned his certification to begin his storied career as a Vibration Analyst Balancing Technician. He was very well known in the greater Seattle area for his skill and experience and continued to perfect his craft in the field for over 39 years.
Chris bought his property in 1981 and began building his home on the weekends after he was married in 1984. Never content with the easy route, he decided on constructing a unique geodesic dome house all while working and raising a family. For those who knew Chris, he was very artistic, creative, smart, technical and loved to work with his hands, so this project fit him perfectly.
He loved to open his home to friends and family to entertain and BBQ while filling the air with classic rock music. He was a self-described lover of art, fantasy, fine wine, and gourmet food cooked with love. Chris was happiest when grabbing a drink with friends at his local hangouts.
Chris is survived by his children Lauren and Sean and their spouses, Ryan and Brooke, his stepdaughter Angel, grandson Quentin, step grandsons Kadyn and Jordan, sisters Sherrill and Donna, and many more cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents Barbara and Richard and granddaughter Audrey.
To honor Chris’ love of travel and adventure, his ashes will journey with his family to be scattered among all his favorite world destinations. A celebration of life will follow when his family has had time to process this unexpected loss and current health restrictions allow. Chris would want a big party to celebrate the life that he lived and he will be missed by many.
