On July 10, 2021, Clara E. Scott passed away peacefully at the age of 86.
Clara was born in Grafton, ND on February 13, 1935. After graduating from Grafton High School, she attended nursing school at St. Luke’s Hospital in Fargo, ND. She moved to Seattle, Washington in 1957 with her husband, James “Jim” of Cavalier, ND, where she worked as a nurse at Burien General Hospital. Later, they settled in Enumclaw, and she retired after 15 years as a dental assistant.
Clara loved spending time with friends and family. She was an avid sports fan, enjoyed traveling, playing bingo, square dancing, and bowling. Clara was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Enumclaw Guild of Seattle Children’s Hospital, and the Red Hat Society. Upon retirement, Jim and Clara spent the winters in Arizona.
Clara is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Jim Scott, and her parents Rudolph and Hjordis (Torstad) Thompson. She is survived by her children Susan Names (Kriss) and Randy Scott; 3 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; her siblings Ruth Ratchenski (Walt), Charles Thompson (Ann), Arnie Thompson (Connie), and Robert Thompson (Bev); and numerous nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery at 3:00 pm on Thursday, July 29, 2021.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be given in Clara’s name to Trinity Lutheran Church, 1535 Washington Ave, Enumclaw, WA 98022.
