Courtney Wheeler Obituary

Courtney Anne Wheeler was born March 31, 1980, at Enumclaw Hospital and passed away at her home in Enumclaw February 26, 2022.  She was 41 years old.

Courtney attended Enumclaw schools and Enumclaw Church of the Nazarene.  She had many interests including gymnastics, softball and basketball.  She graduated from Enumclaw High School in 1998 and then earned her AA degree from Green River Community College while working 2 jobs.  She then went to WSU studying advertising, marketing and fun.  She had a great time in college but then, Courtney had a great time no matter where she was.  No one loved a party more than Courtney and a party could be 25 people or just two.  There just had to be music, laughter and a lot of fun.   Everyone who knew her knows that her smile lit up a room and her laugh was infectious.

Courtney spent 10 years in Seattle, living many places and working many jobs including an office job that was on the top floor of the Columbia Tower Building (what a view!), Green Lake Financial, The Red Door and Ridge Pizza.  Courtney moved back to Enumclaw when she had her daughter, Lucy and loved raising her here.  While living in Enumclaw she worked at the Mint, Griffin & Wells and Jackson’s.  In January 2021 she started working at Sunn Health Bar.  She loved it there.  She got to make healthy food, which was so important to her, and she got to connect with people, which was even more important to her. In September 2021 after weeks of training, Courtney started a temporary position at Edward Jones. In Early February, she was so excited when she was given the opportunity to take a permanent position as a Branch Office Administrator. Courtney was very proud of that job.

Courtney loved Jesus.  She and Lucy attended Grace Point NW.  She would say, “Grace Point is my church. It’s where I got saved.” Courtney loved the outdoors.  She relished being in and on the water.  She was obsessed with running and hiking.  Courtney loved her family and friends and always tried to see the best in people and have a positive outlook on life.  She truly was a bright light, is loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Courtney was a daughter to Bill and Jami Wheeler, a sister to Meghan Larsen (Kyle), and Erik Wheeler (Heidi).  She was an aunt to Riley and Malakai, Van, and BB.  She was a niece, a cousin, and a wonderful friend.  But most importantly she was a mother to the love of her life, Lucy Jean Roy.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gene and Pat Wheeler, Rev. Ed and Ruth McConnell and by her aunt Judy Mitchell.

A memorial service will be held at the Enumclaw Field House on May 14th at 1pm. Please share a memory of Courtney on the tribute wall.
