Darcie Dee (Mckinney) Hanson, 55, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022 in Auburn, Washington. She was born October 15, 1966 in Killeen, Texas. She was the eldest child of the late Jack D. McKinney and Alice J. McKinney.
Darcie graduated from Auburn High School in 1985. She then attended Green River Community College in Auburn for a brief time. Darcie graduated with her Associates in Business Administration degree in the spring of 1987. Darcie then began working for the City of Auburn, where she would find her lifelong career. She continued to work for the city of Auburn for over 30 years, where she generated lifelong friendships and left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
On September 22nd, 1990 she married Andrew P. Hanson in Enumclaw, Washington. They had been married for over 30 years. Together they had a daughter, Shelby A. Hanson, born October 22nd, 1993.
Darcie enjoyed boating, camping, gardening, reading, and spending time with family. She was always up for a drive and ready to go on any adventure.
Darcie is survived by her husband Andrew Hanson, daughter Shelby Hanson, brother Chad McKinney, and sisters, Deana Houghton, and Tina Werdall. Darcie is also survived by nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins.
Darcie was a ray of sunshine and will be remembered for her kind heart and loving personality. She will carry forever with her, husky glitter, from her beloved grand-dog Abby.
A viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. Sunday April 24th, 2022 at Weeks Funeral Home in Buckley, WA. Memorial services will be held immediately following the viewing at 12:00 p.m. with a celebration of life to follow at sister Deana’s house in Auburn, WA
