Darlene Morrow Obituary

Darlene Mae Morrow was born January 30, 1942 to Ottin and Ellen Kjono in Yakima, Washington and died June 27, 2022 at her home in Buckley, Washington.  Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Morrow, her parents, brother Orris and sister Judy.

She is survived by her children, Steven of Grand Rapids MN, Renae of Buckley WA and Nancy of Tacoma WA, and three grandchildren, Matthew, Emelie and Jacob.  She is also survived by her sisters, Audrey Burns of Madera, CA, Donna Oys of Monticello MN, brother-in-law Leroy Simonson of Milbank SD, sister-in-law Alice Filipiak of Grand Rapids MN, sister-in-law Penny Buentemeier of Northome MN, brother-in-law Tim Morrow of Apache Junction AZ and many nieces and nephews.

Darlene married Ronald Morrow on July 11, 1959.  They made their home in several Minnesota towns due to Ron's work as a pipefitter.  Upon Ron's retirement, they made their home in Apache Junction, AZ during the winter months and in Northome, MN during the summer months.  Darlene loved her Arizona home and the wonderful friends she made there. Darlene was devoted to her family and considered her three grandchildren to be the light of her life. She had a knack for turning strangers into friends with her gentle smile and outgoing personality. Darlene was known for her sense of humor (what a laugh!), her love of all birds –with a special adoration for hummingbirds, baking, and playing cards. Her memory is and will be treasured by many far and wide as a spectacular mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.

A memorial service has been planned for July 30th, 2022 at 11:00am at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Northome, MN at 12026 Lake St with a luncheon scheduled at the Northome Senior Center following.
