Former Enumclaw resident David Eugene Strous of Puyallup went to be with the Lord on September 15, 2019. He was born August 12, 1931 to Curtis Eugene and Effie Mildred Strous in Adelphi, Ohio. His family moved to Xenia, Ohio in 1946 and he graduated from Xenia Central High School in 1949. David joined the United States Air Force and served his entire time in the Strategic Air Command. In 1956 David married Mary Rogers. He was a member of Thornton F. McElroy Lodge #302 and Calvary Presbyterian Church. He worked for The Boeing Company for 38 years before retiring in 1994.
David is survived by his wife Mary; children: Deborah Strous-Boyd, Rebecca Mermod (Leonard), Julia Hyres (David), Jennifer DeRosa (James), and Peter Strous (Karen); brother Richard Strous (Dolores); 7 grandchildren: Dr. Alexander Hyres (Kristy), Nathan Hyres (Samantha), Andrew DeRosa, Heather Hernandez (Manuel), Benjamin Strous, Katie Strous and Kirsten Strous; and 2 great grandchildren: Elodie Hyres and Lucia Hyres. He is predeceased by his brother Curtis Eugene Strous (Shirley).
