We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Weeks' Funeral Home
Gary Christenson, 60, passed away on September 6, 2021 at his home in Kent, WA.
He was born on May 29, 1961 in Renton and attended Lindbergh High School before joining the Army Reserves. After his military training, Gary returned to Washington and began work as a mechanic for Boeing. On August 7, 2011 he married Adrianne Guzman at Soap Lake, WA. Gary was a people person and loved to hang out with friends. He took his barbecuing and meat smoking seriously. He was a proud promoter of Recteq grills and enjoyed expounding their benefits to anyone with the mistaken opinion that Traeger was of comparable quality. He and Adrianne maintained a ritual of weekly date nights. During those weekly dates, they enjoyed exploring the many great restaurants in the Kent/Covington area and occasionally going to a casino. They also enjoyed traveling. The island of Cozumel was one of his favorite places. When he was at home, he had a love/hate relationship with their cat, Kyra. He hated that he loved Kyra. Gary also loved being a grandpa and spending time with his 8 grandchildren.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Adrianne, 4 sons, Jason Christenson, Jonathan Christenson, Bobby Christenson, and Trevor Funck; 2 daughters, Crystal Goes, and Kaelynn Sabin; mother, Sharon and her husband Danny Devaney; father, Chuck and his wife Donna Christenson; 8 grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Debbie Lewis and Shelly Radar.
Following the cremation with Weeks' Funeral Home, Gary's family will hold a Celebration of Life with family and friends for a later date. Condolences may be left on Gary’s tribute wall.
