Gus Wiebenga Jr. passed away peacefully on May 8, 2020 at the age of 80. He was born January 30, 1940 in Downey, California to Gus and Evelyn Wiebenga. As the 4th of 5 children Gus was raised on a dairy farm in Long Beach, California. After high school Gus joined the Marine Corps and following his service he moved to Enumclaw, Washington where he raised his family. After retiring Gus moved to Monticello, Arkansas. Gus was an entrepreneur throughout his life owning 5 meat shops and multiple rental properties. However, his proudest work was dairy farming. Gus loved fixing anything that was broken, remodeling houses, reading, fishing and duck hunting. His family and friends want others to remember him as a hard worker, storyteller, as well as a practical joker.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Wiebenga; parents, Gus Wiebenga Sr.and Evelyn Dewitt Wiebenga; brother, Harold Wiebenga; and sisters, Evelyn Cater and Patti Davis.
Gus is survived by his kids, Michael Wiebenga, Angela Hansen and Deno Wiebenga; brother, John Wiebenga; numerous nieces and nephews; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
