Helen Heiden, age 92, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2023. Helen was born at home in South Prairie, Washington to John and Maria Karpinchik. Helen enjoyed a career in bookkeeping at Smith Brothers Dairy and Jafco. She was a wonderful cook, loved to travel, and entertained herself by playing Solitaire, Mahjong and word searches. Her life was never boring, and she kept life interesting for those who loved her. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; brother Anton Tron; sisters Anna Smith and Dorothy Norem; and grandson Tom Maks. She is survived by her sister Mary Lou Knaack; daughters Linda Swain, Susan Maks (John), and Tracey Lokar (Ron); grandchildren Tiffen, Travis (Dani), Griffin (Lillian), Katy (Kevin), BJ (Sarah), Anna (Cory), Mary (Zach), José, and Sofia; great-grandchildren Mia, Hailey, Mali, Eleanor, Gideon, Solveig, Mila, Maggie, Lars, Arie, Brynn, Rose, and Tyler; and her beloved Silvia and Mynor. Helen’s daughters would like to express their gratitude and thanks to Sandra O’Hara of Suntop Farms AFH for the unsurpassable loving care she provided our mother in her final days.
