John (Jack) Johnson Obituary

John (Jack) Arvid Johnson passed peacefully on May 28, 2021. Jack was born in December 1936 in Palmer, Alaska to Edith and Arvid Johnson, the third of four children. In 1951 the family moved to a dairy farm in Enumclaw. Jack graduated from Enumclaw High School in 1954. After spending rime at WSU and serving in the US Marine Corps Reserve, Jack married his wife Louise Cunningham of Greenwater in 1958.

Jack spent over 40 years employed by the Boeing company. He and Louise raised their children, first in West Seattle, ultimately returning to Enumclaw in 1976. In 1987 Jack was asked to manage Boeing Electronics in Irving, Texas, where he was much loved by his employees. In 1991 jack accepted an opportunity to come back to Washington with Boeing until his retirement in 1996, where he and Louise resided the remainder of their lives.

Jack and Louise were both very involved with Trinity Lutheran Church, travelled extensively in retirement. Jack loved salmon fishing, and was lucky enough to practice the art of the chase in Alaska and Washington.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents Arvid and Edith Johnson, his sisters Carol Ortis (St Petersburg, FL) and Ruth Nutter (Tucson, AZ) and his wife Louise Cunningham Johnson. He is survived by his brother Richard (Dick) Gary Johnson (Kris) of Eatonville, his son Dale Johnson (Shawn), his daughter Linda Huizenga (Garry), 6 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Arrangements entrusted to Weeks’ Enumclaw Funeral Home. The family wants to thank the staff and employees of High Point Village for their care.
