Obituary

With broken hearts we announce that Kevin Scott Wolgamot passed away at his home on August 4, 2023.  He was born in Spokane, WA on October 23, 1970 to Bonnie and John Wolgamot. He completed the trio, joining older brothers John and Todd. Shortly after, the family moved to Bellevue where Kevin would make friends that would last his lifetime.

From an early age, Kevin loved to tinker, taking things apart just to see how they worked. He loved being outdoors, music, and working with his hands. One of his favorite pastimes was going to garage sales. He loved looking for a good deal and collecting tools that he’d never seen before. He excelled at woodworking and built many pieces of furniture over the years. He more recently took to joyfully reviving old tools and repurposing things he would find, like turning a blowtorch or fire extinguisher into a lamp. He had a very creative mind and a skilled steady hand. His favorite time of year was hunting season, where he enjoyed his time at camp and the company of his old friends more than the hunting itself.

Kevin and Sabrina were married in April of 1994 and settled down in Black Diamond, WA where they raised their two children, Megan (25) and Scott (19). Kevin worked for 15 years at Costco, then took a chance to leave and become an electrician. He studied and worked hard and eventually started his own business, KWElectric. Kevin’s love for Sabrina was endless and their marriage was built on mutual devotion and respect. They lived a simple life enjoying their family and all the little things that their time together had to offer.

Kevin’s biggest joy in life was being a dad.  Whether on a sideline, laying on the floor playing Barbie or monster trucks, at a living room dance party, hiking in the woods, or teaching them under the hood of a car, he was completely devoted to them. He made every moment a teaching moment and loved watching as their knowledge and confidence grew. His kids owned his heart and he loved them so very much!

Kev was a joy to the people that knew him. His hugs were big. His support and willingness to help others plentiful. His kindness was extended to everyone. His smile was genuine and his sense of humor a little twisted. He was a loyal friend that cherished the relationships in his life. He will be missed and remembered every single day!

Kevin is proceeded in death by his father John Wolgamot Jr. and his brother John Wolgamot III.  Kevin is survived by his wife Sabrina, his “beautiful Roni” Megan and his “best friend teamer” Scott, his mother Bonnie and stepfather Mel, his brother Todd, his grandmother Leone and much-loved extended family and friends.

In memory of our Kevin, please consider shopping local, small businesses, as he would. Our family would like to thank the Black Diamond Police Department and Mountain View Fire and Rescue for their gentle handling and kindness on August 4th.
