Lucille Irene Sonneson was born December 24, 1931, to Samuel and Blanche Funk in Weyerhaeuser, Wisconsin. She was the youngest of nine children. She passed away August 26, 2021, in Buckley.
Lucille worked at the Western Auto store and several of the restaurants in town. She was a very talented seamstress, loved crafting, gardening, canning, and fishing and going to the beach to dig clams with LeRoy. Most of all, she loved spending time with family, friends, and the many pets she had over the years.
She was widely known for her kind, caring heart, her generous spirit, humility, beautiful crafts, and for bringing joy to anyone in her presence. Some of the fondest memories Lucille’s family have are of her endless support of her family, her ability to teach anyone to cook, sew, and bake, and for her delicious pies at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
One can only hope to live the incredible life that Lucille did, but her legacy of kindness, selflessness, and respect will forever live beyond her time on earth.
Lucille was preceded in death by her beloved husband of more than 70 years, Leroy Sonneson, their son Delmis, her parents, and all of her siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Pam Wik, grandchildren Hilary (Terry) McCabe and Paul (Jennifer) Wik, and great-grandchildren Hailey and Tommy McCabe and Anna and Alex Wik, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
