Mary Forler Alicea

Mary Forler Alicea, 58, of Enumclaw died January 17, 2021. She was born on January 31, 1962 in Seattle. She lived in Burien, Washington until her family moved back to Enumclaw in 1970. After graduation from Washington State University, Mary taught at Mount Rainier High School in Des Moines, Washington for 2 years before going back to school at Seattle University. While there she was hired as an intern at Microsoft, which quickly turned into a permanent job that she loved. Her rising career culminated with her opening the Microsoft site in Charlotte, North Carolina. She returned from North Carolina and retired from Microsoft after 10 years. Mary settled at Dash Point, Washington. It was there she met her beloved husband Rob Alicea. They were married in August 2001. They moved to Palm Springs, California but returned to Enumclaw to raise their 3 much-loved daughters. Once the girls were old enough, Mary went back to work as a staff member of Lake Tapps Elementary School in the Dieringer School District. 

Mary absolutely loved her family. She was very active in Enumclaw Schools PTA, Enumclaw School Foundation, and the sports her children participated in. Her favorite hobbies were reading while sitting in her front yard looking at Mt. Rainier, having her family and friends hang out around the family fire pit, and taking her family on weekend trips around Washington State. 

Mary is survived by her husband, Roberto Alicea; her daughters, Olivia, Megan, and Emily; her sister, Jody Forler Clough (John) and their children, Sierra and Chase Clough; and her brother, Greg Forler, all of Enumclaw. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Gail Forler; her mother-in-law, Helga Alicea; and her brother-in-law Mike Alicea. 

Mary had a huge heart and was a great friend to many around Enumclaw. She was known for her kindness and generosity to all.  Mary will be missed by everyone who knew her.
