Mary Walters of Enumclaw died Jan. 10, 2018 at the age of 103. She was born March 23, 1914 to Bartell & Mary Costanich in Spiketon, WA. Mary was raised in Cumberland along with her 7 brothers and sisters. She commercial fished with her husband, Dayle Walters in Alaska for many years. Mary retired from Rainier State School as a cook. Mary enjoyed traveling, gardening, and bowling. She also loved playing Bingo and slot machines and black berry picking. Mary was the matriarch of her family, who she loved to bake for, especially preparing all the holiday dinners. Preceded in death by her husband, Dayle Walters on Oct. 5, 1997. She is survived by her son, Steven Walters of Greenwater, WA; daughter, Barbara Berndt of Auburn; 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. A funeral service was held, Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Weeks’ Funeral Home with burial at Buckley City Cemetery.
