Merrie Daggett Obituary

Merrie Lou (Barber) Daggett passed away quietly at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, Washington on September 9, 2022, with her twin sister Sherrie Sue Johnson and her niece Dawn Johnson by her side. She was 76 years old. She was born on July 5, 1946 in Tacoma, Washington to Ina and Robert Barber. Merrie Lou graduated from Ellensburg High School in 1964, then graduated from Beauty School in 1965 and was a hairdresser until she married Larry Daggett in 1969 in South Carolina. Larry was in the Army Service, and they traveled around living on and off base in South Carolina, Oklahoma, and Hawaii. Merrie Lou had traveled to many locations over the years in stride while Larry was in the service. Merrie Lou ended up in Wilkeson as a clerk at the local Post Office becoming postmaster for at least fifteen years. She is preceded in death by her husband Larry Daggett in 1990, her mother Ina Barber in January 2000, her father Robert Barber in December 2000, and her brother Bobby Barber in 2020. Merrie Lou is survived by her twin sister Sherri Sue Johnson, her daughter Donna Bowler who resides in Massachusetts with her granddaughter Paige Bowler, her grandson Hadeyn Bowler who resides in Arlington, Washington and many nephews and nieces and very close friends and neighbors. Merrie Lou left her spirit of kindness, her humor and true joy of life which we will carry with us always.
