Norma Jean Wittman passed away peacefully on June 28, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup.
Norma was born in 1939 in Yakima, Washington to parents Harry and Hazel Clayton, but spent most of her childhood in Seattle (Columbia City). She worked as an executive secretary at Boeing, which is where she met her husband Bob Wittman. They were married for 56 years until his death two years ago. Norma and Bob retired from their home in Renton to the Cedar Ridge community in Bonney Lake for a few years, and then later moved to Heritage House assisted living facility in Buckley.
Norma is survived by her daughter Cynthia (Buckley, WA) by her son Dave, daughter-in-law Tracy (Whittier, CA), and granddaughter Sydney (Long Beach, CA). Norma owned and operated an antique store "Main Street Antiques” in Buckley for many years with her sister Dolores Sund. Norma enjoyed artistic endeavors such as painting and, in later years, creative coloring. She also enjoyed fishing and crabbing.
For many years the family owned beachfront property in Grayland, WA where they spent weekends and vacations. Many family vacations were also spent exploring the US, including road trips to visit extended family in the Midwest, and camping destinations such as National Parks & Monuments.
Norma will now join Bob in their final resting place at Tahoma National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s association, in honor of her husband, or to the Buckley Senior Center
