Philip Gene Hiam of Carbonado, Washington passed away on Saturday February 27, 2021 after reaching the age of 85.
Philip was born on August 1 1935 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin to parents Mearl and Doris Hiam. The only child of the two. They moved to Carbonado, Washington in 1940. And this is where he raised his family and remained throughout the years.
On July 5th 1952 he married the love of his life Donna Vanhoof and they built a very nice life together throughout their 68 years together.
He attended Carbonado for grade school and White River High school when it was Enumclaw/Buckley Combined.
Philip started his working career as a box boy for Safeway and later found happiness working in the woods (started at 17 and when they found out he had to return on his 18th birthday). He worked for St. Regis which has changed names several times throughout the years. He worked in the woods for 30 years and in the off season worked for Crystal Mountain as a lift operator.
He was a 62 year member of the Wilkeson Eagle, a HUGE Cougs Fan, and Loved to watch the Buckley Log Show. He had a love for Hunting, Fishing, Camping and Crosswords.
He is preceded in death by his parents Mearl and Doris Hiam and great grandson Jaron Osborn.
He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Hiam of Carbonado, Washington; Daughter, Lois Osborn (Bruce) of Carbonado, Washington; Grandkids, Jamie Osborn (Brandi) of Bonney Lake, Washington; Steven Osborn (Cori) of Carbonado, Washington; Brandi Gresko (Scott) of Orting, Washington; Scott Hiam (Lisa) of Kelso, Washington; Great Grandchildren, Jessalynn, Jace and Maddy Osborn; Ashley, Brittney and Justin Maki; Kaylee and Kendall Gresko; Chase Hiam.
Per his request there will be no service.
