"Grandmas never run out of hugs or cookies." Being grandma was Rita James’s proudest accomplishment. Born Rita Clara James on April 29, 1964 in Yakima to Louis Starr II and Delores James, Rita moved to spend the rest of her life in Auburn as a member of the Muckleshoot tribe. What better way to show her love to the family and friends she cherished than to indulge in her favorite activity, being in the kitchen cooking and baking delicious treats. She could also be found in the great outdoors, enjoying the beauty that is the foothills of Mt Rainer. To Rita family and friends (and especially grandchildren) were the greatest things that life had to offer.
Waiting to meet Rita in heaven are Terran Hoptowit, Ernie Barr, Elizabeth James, Louis Starr III and her beloved son Thomas Christian Arms. Those left behind to remember her love are her husband, Julius Spencer Arms Sr; sons, Johnny James and Julius Arms Jr; daughters, Julie James and Julianna Arms; and 8 grandchildren.
